I have many roles:

Wife, mom, angel mom, daughter, sister, business owner,

retired nurse, dog mom, friend, breast cancer survivor

and daughter of the One true King!

I am learning every day what graceful living truly means on this rollercoaster life I have been so blessed to have.

 

I am married to my prince charming and my family is my life!

I am guessing that many of you can relate when I say that I literally lost myself in that equation since the day my children were born.  I maintained a full time career as an accountant, then changed careers completely and became a nurse, then added a family business to the mix, all the while doing my very best to hold things together at home.

 

Things were a little different at my house.

You see, when my first child was born she had severe medical issues.  Our lives revolved around strict schedules as if our lives depended on it; because hers literally did.

Our daughter was given six months to live.

Thankfully, we were blessed to have 27 wonderful years with her until she passed away on October 1, 2017.

 

I am learning what it means to be an empty-nester as our two other children have flown the nest.  I am also beginning to find the old me again; the one who didn’t have to be so regimented and can go with the flow a little more.  I'm letting go of my inner "control freak"!

I'm learning to take time to stop and smell the 'sunflowers'.

Looking back, it has been all part of a much bigger plan than I could have ever imagined and I'm so thankful for my blessings.
